"Treats for the Mind" - Kate Cruickshanks
Books are nourishment for the mind. Young learners earn tokens that they can use to select exciting books for their home library. The book vending machine gets the pages turning for emerging readers in PreK-4th grade. This grant of $8,000 stocks literacy and character skills for 540 students, and similar vending machines can be seen at seven other CSISD elementary schools.
