The Ag Initiative encourages College Station ISD students to participate in agriculture and livestock programs by raising and showing animals. However, the cost of preparing animals for the Brazos County Youth Livestock Show can be a barrier.
Students who win a Premium Auction can likely recoup their investment and fund future projects. Unfortunately, those who do not make the premium auction, often sell their animals at market price for a significant loss.
To bridge this gap, the CSISD Freezer Sale Fund was created to help students who do not make a premium sale by securing community support for animal purchases. This ensures students recover their financial and personal investment while encouraging continued participation in agricultural programs.
The Education Foundation is proud to partner with the CSISD Career & Technical Education Department, committing a minimum of $20,000 in matching seed money to support this initiative.

What is the Freezer Sale?
The Freezer Sale provides College Station ISD FFA students with a valuable opportunity to sell their market animals if they do not qualify for the Premium Auction. While the Premium Auction showcases top-placing animals at scholarship prices, the Freezer Sale ensures that all students who have dedicated time and effort to their livestock projects have an opportunity to be financially rewarded.
Buyers invest in the future of local youth in agriculture and also have the opportunity to stock their freezers (buyers do not have to keep the meat). As community support grows, proceeds will help students fund future projects and supplies for the BCYLS livestock show - planting the seeds for continued success in agricultural education.
Join us on Saturday, March 29th! The Premium Sale begins at 12:00 PM, followed by the Freezer Sale at 4:00 PM, or immediately after the Premium Auction concludes. Your support makes a lasting impact!
Freezer Sale Sponsorships Available!
**Sponsorships received after NOON on March 24th will not be included on the Buyer's Group banner at the Sale but will be included on the banner displayed at the Ag Science Center.
