The Amy Anderson Literacy Legacy Program was established after the sudden loss of Dr. Amy Anderson, a long-time teacher and administrator for College Station ISD. Her passion and work in CSISD was to encourage young students to develop a love of reading. To honor her memory and efforts, the Education Foundation established the initiative to enable underserved children to purchase their own books and create opportunities for reading. In its inaugural year, the Amy Anderson Literacy Legacy Program provided books to 346 excited students – every student in CSISD Pre-Kindergarten and Head Start!
